“a riverside chalet with jaw dropping mountain views anyone?!”

Accommodation is minimal in Milford Sound, but the riverside chalets at Milford Sound Lodge make up for it in spades. The riverside chalets aren't exactly what they say they are: they are more! Imagine falling asleep listening to water babbling over stones not further than a couple of metres from your cabin, and then waking up to floor to ceiling views of snow capped mountains! My 10 month old son loved the cheeky kea which flew up on our deck to play with him whilst we were eating breakfast. Keep in mind that Milford Sound is quite remote (ie: no petrol, no shops), so stock up before you get there. The cooking facilities in the room are simple, but there is a communal kitchen. Alternatively, you could eat out, like we did, at the local pub, which served up heart-warming fare perfect for weary travellers. Highly recommended!!!!

“Highlight of our trip”
We stayed for 2 nights in the chalets at the lodge - absolutely worth the extra dollars. Great location, loved the big windows looking out at the river, very comfortable bed and the kitchen was well fitted out. Great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenary around Milford.
