The Milford Road is temporarily closed for an estimated 10-14 days in order for NZTA to undertake rock work at the Homer Tunnel. We emphathise with those of you not able to experience Milford Sound, arguably the best tourist destination in NZ and if you are able, flights are still available into Milford Sound, feel free to contact us to help you arrange.
Before traveling to Milford Sound my husband and I consulted many friends who had traveled there before us to get their advice on the best way to see the Sound. All of them recommended taking a tour bus from Queenstown for the day. If you do that, you will be missing out on one of the most spectacular trips of your life.
